Northcentral University seeks to unite a global community of expert faculty and students dedicated to
improving the human condition through research and practice. The Department of Psychology
degree and certificate programs emphasize an understanding of how the mind works and explore
human behavior.
As the world of psychology evolves, the Department faculty stays current on the cutting-edge of the
industry, and updates curriculum to keep it relevant for all students. For example, the Master of Arts
and PhD in Psychology degrees provide multiple specializations on which students can choose to
focus their program.
The Department of Psychology's newest Master of Science programs are 30-credit non-clinical
programs with either a capstone project or internship. The internship is approximately a 100-hour
experience completed over 12 weeks. The MS programs include Child and Adolescent
Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Health
Psychology.
There are multiple specializations at the PhD level that provide research-based knowledge in a
variety of specializations. All PhD specializations emphasize theory, research and scholarship and
culminate in a dissertation.
