FACULTYSPOTLIGHT DAVID SERVINO, PHD, LMFT-S Full-Time Faculty, Department of Marriage and Family Sciences David earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Brigham Young University. He went on earn a master's degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from the University of Connecticut and a doctoral degree in MFT from Texas Tech University. His clinical training and experience have included time spent working in medical family therapy, with incarcerated youth, with federal probationers transitioning back into society after prison, and in a residential substance abuse treatment facility. He also worked for the Veteran's Administration counseling with combat veterans and their family members. He currently owns a private practice, which he finds very fulfilling. He sees both couples and individuals, and them work through issues such as addictions, infidelity, and/or depression, and relationship challenges. He began working as an adjunct professor at NCU in November 2013 and was hired full time in April 2014. At NCU currently teaches courses in the Master's program which include 5101, 5104, 5105, 5102, and 6105. Clinically, David has a particular interest in LGBT, addiction, faith transitions, and couples' intimacy issues. Personally, David has a strong interest in Oregon Ducks football. He grew up on the Oregon coast, and consequently, knows a lot about rain and truly appreciates the Texas sun, where he currently lives. He likes following college football, reading great books, listening to hard rock/metal music, re-watching Arrested Development episodes, teaching students, and spending time with wife and their four children.
