The year 2018 will be another year of exciting additions to our programs in the DMFS. Here are some highlights: • Deb Circo is leading the creation of a MSW program that will be housed in the DMFS. The planned launch is August 2018! Deb has hired some remarkably talented SMEs to assist with the development of the program and courses within it. The Professional Advisory Committee members are incredibly well-prepared to provide useful consultation that will make the foundation of the program very solid. • We will be adding the proprietary content that we developed in 2017. There will be a significant upgrade of the PhD MFT to come into alignment with the COAMFTE Version 12 Standards. Mark White has some very exciting ideas that he has been vetting with faculty and staff. The next iteration of the program will help to keep it current and leading edge • We are exploring the possibility of adding a DMFT that is non-clinical. It will focus on systemic leadership of mental health administration • We will be adding a Trauma Informed MFT specialization to the MAMFT • We are planning to add a Systems-Focused Treatment of Addictions specialization and certificate that, for those who wish to pursue it, will be designed to assist graduates to seek licensure as addictions counselors • We strongly encourage each faculty member interested in doing research to remember that NCU offers some generous research support in the form of grants to fund research or work load reductions to provide time to do the research. Please take advantage of these resources It is anticipated that this year will not include so many demands on the level of change tolerance each of us has. Although there are some exciting initiatives that we have on the docket, it appears that there will not be major systemic changes (e.g., LMS) like what we experienced in 2017. Here's to a great year, filled with enjoyment of our work and of the chance to work with such wonderful colleagues! We are so grateful to these new faculty and to all of our faculty for creating opportunities to succeed for our students. What you all do in the classroom, working one-on-one with students, is what creates successful outcomes for students, the DMFS, and NCU. Thanks and KUDOS for your incredible work!
