64 | Faculty and Student Services and Support | NCU Faculty Handbook Northcentral University Academic Success Center (ASC) The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides personalized academic support via tiers of service, including scholarly resources, Grammarly, APA Style CENTRAL, live chat, and asynchronous and synchronous individual and group coaching. The focus of coaching is on skills and competencies rather than course deliverables. These resources are available at no additional cost to all NCU students and are based on their unique learning needs with the goal of promoting competence in written communication and quantitative reasoning. ASC Goals: The ASC's primary goal is to assist students in developing skills that strengthen their written communication and quantitative reasoning abilities. The ASC's tiers of service provide progressive levels of support to offer each student with a personalized, meaningful experience. The ASC encourages students to collaborate with coaches, peers, and various university stakeholders while building a graduate culture to support each student through program completion. Faculty are encouraged to refer students to the ASC either informally by suggesting a student visit the center or formally by submitting a collaboration form to asc@ncu.edu. Collaboration forms can be found on the ASC's Academic Coaching Services page. When the ASC receives a collaboration form, an email will be sent to the student outlining the ASC's services and the faculty member will be cc'd. Faculty are encouraged to follow up with the student to see if services were utilized. The ASC can be accessed on the homepage of NCUOne under the Center for Teaching and Learning. Faculty may contact the ASC at asc@ncu.edu for more information about the ASC's services.
