76 | Section XX title | NCU Faculty Handbook 76 | Addendum - The Commons | NCU Faculty Handbook ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES School/Dept Steward Ambassador 5-8 hours/week Group Steward within School/ Dept for a Faculty Facilitated Community 3-5 hours/week • Stewards main School/Dept Community Forum - see group steward responsibilities • Reviews NCU Community Forum for school related posts • Posts Quarterly to NCU Community School Updates/News/Conversations • Develops with the school's academic leaders a vision of how the Commons will support their school/dept mission and goals • Identifies school/department portfolio of groups • Supports the development and review of school/dept groups • Manages requests for new groups within school/dept • Manages school/dept group configuration and membership as needed. • Promotes the school/dept groups • Supports school/dept groups managers • Participates in the Commons Steward/Ambassador Monthly Meeting • Meets quarterly 1:1 with Commons Director • Provides feedback and issues to the Commons Director and steering committee • Participates in strategic planning and development of the Commons • Works with School/Dept Steward/Ambassador to establish vision for this group • Participate in Steward Training/Onboarding • Facilitate community development • Posts at least one discussion forum and one other post ( a thought, announcement, event, resource) per month on a topic you feel is relevant, helpful, supportive or useful, either to students or faculty • Provides relevant resources and materials as needed based on discussions that emerge • Monitors and actively participates in discussions, and respond regularly as necessary • Identifies and engages key contributors if appropriate • Participates in Commons CoP for Community Leaders monthly sharing successes, challenges, questions and resources • Escalates Student concerns, issues or challenging posts to School Leadership and Commons Director • Innovate uses for The Commons inside NCUOne • Participates Quarterly in the Steward/Key Contributor Meetings • Participates in the assessment of the Group FACULTY HELD COMMONS ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
