10 | About NCU | NCU Faculty Handbook Goals and Strategies Northcentral University's Mission, Vision, and Values serve as the foundation for all current and future University initiatives. At the heart of this, we rely on our faculty to help drive and inform the continuous improvement efforts of our programs and services. Our strategies align with the allocation of resources, school missions, stated learning outcomes, and the daily activities of our team members. To that end, we regularly communicate with students, faculty, and team members to engage them in discourse around our Mission, Vision, Values, Goals, and Strategies. Equally important, we have processes in place to assess the effectiveness of our teaching and our success in meeting the expectations of our constituents. The current University strategic plan, "NCU: On the Move" is publicly available on the NCU website. Accreditation Accreditation is a process of institutional peer review performed by objective, not-for-profit external agencies. These agencies evaluate colleges, universities, and educational programs for continuous quality. In other words, accreditation is a higher education seal of approval for schools, employers, and most importantly, for students. Students who earn a degree at a regionally accredited institution can be confident that the quality of education, and commitment of an institution to maintain and improve quality, meets the standards of the accrediting body. Regional accrediting agencies only review schools within a specific geographic area—from traditional 4-year public brick and mortar universities and technical schools, to private colleges and online universities, such as Northcentral. This gives you the assurance that all regionally accredited institutions meet the same stringent requirements.
