Connect. Tell us about your clinical training/licensure, experience, current work setting/location and clinical interests/specialty. I have been a local supervisor for NCU since 2015 and an AAMFT approved supervisor since 2012. I received my master's and doctoral degrees from Nova Southeastern University. I am licensed (LMFT) in both Georgia and Florida. I am passionate about helping clients develop innovative solutions that may enhance, manage, and heal multiple aspects of their lives. I specialize in the areas of creating emotional wellness by managing depression, anxiety, work/life balance, and stress. I also help people create healthy relationships. Describe your supervision style in three words. My supervision style is isomorphic to my therapeutic approach: • person-centered • strengths-based • holistic Supervisor Spotlight Tequilla Hill Hales, PhD, LMFT Hill Psychotherapeutic Services, LLC What are some best practices for addressing self of the therapist factors with students/supervisees? Since my style is influenced by both Bowen and solution-focused approaches, my aim is to help students/supervisees become healthy and creative professionals. Just as I do with clients, I invite students/supervisees to engage in meaningful conversations that are rich with empathetic understanding, curiosity, compassion and personal empowerment. How have you and the NCU faculty member worked together to support the student/supervisee? I have collaborated with two NCU faculty members in particular, as I have had quite a few of their students. I have appreciated the NCU faculty members' balance of holding students accountable while inviting them to trust their wisdom and integrate what they have learned. Connect.
