FEEDBACK FROM LOCAL SUPERVISORS During the call with clinical instructors, local supervisors have provided the following feedback regarding the MAMFT program. This feedback is shared and discussed during weekly clinical faculty meetings. This is the feedback we have discussed and our plan for follow-up. Local Supervisor asked if our curriculum includes family treatment of substance abuse (drugs & alcohol) Local Supervisor expressed concern with students being required to request video recording from the onset of Practicum; noted that students need support in presenting this to clients We do have some content on substance abuse in MFT-6106. MFT-6109 is a master's course that focuses on addiction. These are elective courses, so students may choose these. Some students are required to take these courses, depending upon state licensing requirements. Faculty can bring this discussion (and/or role-play) into group (perhaps when informed consent assignment is due); will also ask other students to share testimonials. Additional possibilities to integrate feedback – Clinical admin team will discuss during the practicum preparation process and consider recording a mini lecture to include in NCUOne on "How to discuss recording with clients" (emphasizing purpose and benefit). Potential supervisors and current supervisors inquired about confidentiality of online platform Supervisors have expressed concerns with students' knowledge of treatment planning Administration shared information on HIPAA compliance of current system (Zoom); this information is also included in the student handbook and referenced in the supervisor agreement. Faculty developed additional content to include; this is integrated into the theory courses; there are also two distinct courses on treatment planning (MFT5104 & MFT6102). Faculty clarified "relational" hour as more than one client in the room in a relationship; potential to count groups where topics involve living arrangement, setting, relationship, etc.; local supervisor has discretion in determining what counts as relational; students can also add a supplemental site for the purpose of earning relational hours. Supervisors with students in residential settings requested more support with exploring opportunities to earn relational hours COAMFTE doesn't allow 100% online programs; hence, our policy on 51 of 100 supervision hours need to be local individual (face-to-face); a number of states also prohibit student therapists from receiving virtual supervision. A supervisor wondered why there seems to be a "negative" stance on local, virtual supervision FEEDBACK SHARED BY LOCAL SUPERVISOR CLINICAL MEETING CONVERSATION AND FOLLOW-UP
