• We are moving to Clinical Training Manager (CTM) as our tool to track movement through the Practicum Preparation Process (including verification of clinical readiness and the vetting of sites and supervisors) and for the tracking of client contact hours as students move through the clinical training portion of their programs. Those students who have begun to use Time2Track to support hours tracking will continue to use that tool through the end of the clinical training experience. All students beginning clinical training after April 2nd will use CTM. • We have begun the process of developing a specialization in Trauma-Informed Systemic Treatment. Subject Matter Experts have been engaged in the process of creating the course learning outcomes and course descriptions for the courses that will be developed. • We are in the early stages of developing a specialization and certificate in Systemic Assessment and Treatment of Addictions. We want to develop it in a way that it can be used as a specialization (two courses) in the MAMFT and as a free-standing certificate that will meet the licensure requirements for substance abuse professionals. Any of you who have experience with and a desire to be involved in the development of this academic offering, please contact me (dadamson@ncu.edu). We have welcomed the following adjunct faculty since the last newsletter in January 2018: • Jay Burke – Las Vegas, NV (trained at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and Oklahoma State University) • Kathryn Klock-Powell – Springfield, GA (trained at the University of Georgia and Hofstra University) • Yajaira Curiel – Detroit, MI (trained at Drexel University and Syracuse University) • Michael Redd – Akron, OH (trained at the University of Akron and University of Connecticut) • Laura Mohr – Parker, CO (trained at Michigan State University and Northern Illinois University) • Tracey-Ann Spencer – Fort Lauderdale, FL (trained at Nova Southeastern University) As this list illustrates, we have a very diverse faculty within the Department of Marriage and Family Sciences. You, as individuals and as a group, create the success we are having as a Department and as MFT training programs. We are impacting the lives of individual students, their families, the clients they serve and will serve and the profession of MFT as we graduate well-prepared and passionate professionals. It doesn't get any better than that! School of Social and Behavioral Sciences
