THE BRIDGETTE CHAMBERS STORY Looking for the right graduate school can become a daunting task for a busy professional. For Bridgette Chambers, the search for the right doctoral program was no exception. The Ameri- can Business Association award-winning execu- tive, turnaround expert, growth strategist and successful business author said she found many options that promised academic rigor, online flexibility and a prestigious network of alumni, but felt most of the information she found was market- ing fodder and not the right kind of hard evidence needed for her to make a good decision. Ultimately, she selected NCU, and for many reasons. Chiefly, Bridgette felt NCU was most helpful in her requests to gain more insight regard- ing the PhD in Business Administration (Manage- ment) program. She said the representatives during the registration process were transparent and responsive, which prompted her to move forward with obtaining her degree at NCU. Classes began without delay. Despite the fact that she possessed an MBA, she felt the business and management classes were challenging. The faculty was responsive and interested in her success. She said the program design offers a unique blend of flexibility with a cadence that keeps the student moving through the process. She was thankful for the process NCU built into the program, as it helped her to stay on top of her program require- ments. After successfully completing comps, she said the real excitement began. Bridgette's chair and committee members helped guide her through a demanding process that included four doctoral milestones and resulted in a completed research project and dissertation. She said she proudly defended her dissertation in February of 2018. At this point, Bridgette's goal is to be a productive member of the NCU alumni. She reports she has met some exceptional colleagues during her journey. Some have defended and moved on, while others are still finishing their research. One thing she said they all share is an appreciation for the hard work of the administration, the faculty, the chair and committee members. Moreover, they all offered a desire to be helpful to those just beginning their academic journey with NCU. Bridgette received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston, her MBA from Texas A&M University, and PhD in Business Administration from Northcentral University. She developed her leadership skills while serving proudly in the United States Army Reserves and the Texas Army National Guard
