This is an exciting time in curriculum development as we continue to revise and develop new courses in
both the MFS and PSY Departments. The revisions are prompted by the requirements of the new COAMFTE
Standards for the PhD MFT program, as well as institutional requirements. Many courses are being revised
from 12 to 8 weeks and several new specializations are being developed for the PhD MFT program. We
also continue to build new courses for the new MSW program.
As you continue working on your projects, please remember the following:
• Review and discuss the course CLOs, course description, and course concepts with the Curriculum
Director (CD) and the Program Director (PD) for the course.
• Create the course outline first to be approved by the CD and PD.
• Use the new Course Development Template (CDT) for any course revision/development.
• Contact the Instructional Design Librarian, Taylor Duncan, at tduncan@ncu.edu for any questions
regarding library resources.
• If you are planning to use a textbook, please send the title and the ISBN number to the CD for approval.
If you have not been involved in curriculum development and are interested in serving as a SME or
learning more about the process, please contact me: ywatters@ncu.edu. Thank you!
