9 Katie Lang, PsyD Assistant Part-time Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Psychology Katie Lang, PsyD, has had the incredible opportunity of becoming a member of NCU's first ever postdoctorate in psychology cohort. Dr. Lang continues to value the experience of working with diverse adult learners and teaching a variety of courses, including general psychology and forensic psychology courses. She has further developed her ability to teach through engagement. Dr. Lang has a unique background and came to the field of psychology after being a tenured English professor for over a decade. Thus, she brings significant online higher education teaching experience with her. She returned to school to obtain a doctorate in psychology and has enjoyed every minute. In addition to teaching at NCU, Dr. Lang works at a large, rural private practice seeing children, adolescents, and adults for therapy as well as conducting forensic psychological evaluations. Dr. Lang's research interests include eating disorders, animal-assisted therapy, and adolescent development. In her free time, Dr. Lang enjoys animal training, dog agility, hiking, and swimming. She lives on a farm in Virginia with her two dogs, a couple of goats, and a rooster named Kevin. Yemi Lekuti, PhD, CGP, LPC Assistant Part-time Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Marriage and Family Sciences Yemi Lekuti, PhD, is one of the postdoctoral fellows in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Northcentral University. Through her time teaching, Dr. Yemi relishes seeing students achieve their academic goals, obtain new approaches to their clinical work, and develop as clinicians in the mental health field. In research, she addresses the importance of cultural and ethical considerations to better attend to the needs of marginalized and disenfranchised populations. She sees her clients via telehealth at Amy Wine Counseling Center when she is not teaching. Dr. Yemi's academic journey began after watching a documentary about Sigmund Freud in high school. She majored in Psychology and minored in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Houston. She completed her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Abilene Christian University. Finally, her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Woman's University. Her clinical work focuses on parenting, couples, emotional regulation among adolescents, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, and adjusting to life changes/stressors. Continued...
